Lock an object

In the planetarium mode

Locking an object in planetarium mode keeps it in the camera axis regardless of time and date. You can track an object even when you zoom in or out or accelerate/reduce time flow.

To lock an object, simply right-click on it with the mouse and choose the “lock on objet” option. To unlock later, you can do the same operation again by choosing the “unlock” option which appears in the context menu [1].

In the 3D navigation mode

In 3D navigation mode, the “lock” option in the context menu allows you to move closer to an object. It is thus possible to “jump” from an object to an other one and to travel quickly in the 3D universe of WinStars [1].

Once locked, it is also possible to rotate around the object by holding down the right mouse button and moving the pointer.

An object can be unlocked by pressing ESC.
