Search for an object¶

This dialog box allows you to find an object by typing its proper name or its number in one of the available catalogs (NGC, IC, Messier, LBN) .
For the Orion Nebula, you can type :
- “Great Orion Nebula”
- “M 42” or “M42”
- “Messier 42” or “messier42” *
- “LBN 974”
But we can search too:
- a constellation: Orion
- a planet: Jupiter
- a satellite: Titan
- an asteroid: Ceres, (1024) Hale
- a comet: Hale-Bopp, C/1995 O1
- or a star: Betelgeuse
